Overview
The European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry is an internationally operating non-governmental organization, established in the form of a legally accredited «European Economic Interest Grouping - EEIG» according to the EEC-Regulation of the Council of the European Communities of 25th July 1985. There are EEİG Representatives in 41 countries of the world.
In accordance with the deсision of the extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry, held in Brussels on 15th June 2007 the Representative Office of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry was opened in Azerbaijan to contribute by bringing its economy in conformity with principals and main economic rules of the European Union and has been registered by the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan Republic in September 2008.
The main goals and tasks of the EEIG in Azerbaijan is to contribute to the cooperation between the businesspeople of Azerbaijan and EU-countries, to extend the international cooperation in developing and adoption of new technologies, to implement goods and services exchange, to arrange the supporting of the private sector etc. Members of the Chamber can be legal and individual persons.
It is important to note, that products and sevices of legal persons - Members of the Chamber – also obtain the right to be certified in conformity with the European quality standards (EuSS – European Quility Standard, EHS – European Hotel Standard, EuRS – European Restaurant Standard etc.), as well as spread their commercial proposals through the wide business network of the Chamber, receive European economic news with monthly newsletters of the Chamber and place the official business news at the website www.eeig.az etc.
